The term "peeling" means " to exfoliate" . Applying on the skin acidic substances of various type they causes a more or less marked removal of the superficial layers of the skin and a stimulation of the turnover of the structural components of the skin (cells, collagen and elastic fibers).
All this will lead to an elimination of old cells, to a clearing of the stains and to an attenuation of scarring. A dull and rough skin will appear brighter , with a younger look and well groomed. The spots will fade and eventually disappear, pores will appear less dilated giving compactness to the skin
The peeling is a simple therapeutic act but in inexperienced hands can become too invasive and dangerous. The peeling must be "built" on the face of the patient. The substances to be used, and there are many, and the power of peeling, should be chosen after a careful evaluation of your skin type and depth of the lesion to be treated. Needless peeling, particularly invasive unless necessary you just run the risk of having adverse effects which mainly hyperpigmentation.
The imperfections of the face that can be removed by peeling are:
- Improvement of the texture
- Signs of aging skin: roughness, opacity, superficial stains
- Seborrheic skin, pores, acnes
- Signs of scarring and pigmentation post-acne
Special acids can be used in the therapy of white stretch marks, that is longstanding. In fact their action will be that on the one hand to remove the surface layer but above the other to increase the blood flow and trigger a process of dermal regeneration. Also can be used substances which change the coloring of the stretch mark and bring it closer to that of the surrounding skin, thus making it less visible.
